Just a possibly interesting side note, I think the Buddha said something quite similar, albeit not within the context of scientific method but about our perception of reality and its natural tendency to be quite delusional. Hence its interesting to note science can help us 'mine for truth' within experiments but outside this context, in every day living we are left to the minds tendency towards cognitive illusions.

I did hear that a US edition is under negotiation. But ordering from amazon.co.uk in the US is a piece of cake - assume the same is true for Canada. You just have to accept that the P&P can sometimes equal the cost of the merchandise!

Agree though, the cover is a shame - although it hasn't seemed to hurt UK sales!

Ah, THIS is where I first heard of Ben's book.

He tends not to respond to comments so to lobby him I think we'll have to email him. (tips@badscience.net). On the other hand, ordering from amazon.co.uk could be an interesting book buying experiment - I'm torn between seeing how much duty I'll have to pay and waiting for a US or Canadian edition with a better cover.
