Never mind the hunting, check out the man-spa!

Having a few minutes free before this lunchtime’s event at the Wilson Center, I thought it was about time I revealed where I’m heading this afternoon.  To be honest, I was a little unsure about doing this in case someone got the idea that this was going to be a fun trip.  But I gather that authenticity and honesty are big these days, so here goes…

For the next couple of days, I’ll be holed up at Kessler Canyon in the Colorado Rockies.  From the website the place looks stunning – impressive scenery, gourmet meals, top notch accommodation.  There’s even a whole bunch of activities laid on for residents who aren’t otherwise engaged.  Admittedly, most of these seem to involve killing things.  But there does seem to be the odd less violent option – the Spa Services for instance.

I’m not sure how much riding, shooting and preening I’ll be doing here – the workshop has a pretty intensive schedule (more of that in a later blog).  But at least I have the comfort of knowing that I’m going to be somewhere where I could be killing, eating and relaxing…

Apart from the fact that I’m not a great fan of fishing or shooting.  Or horseback riding.  Or ATV safaris for that matter.  I did think about indulging in the Spa.  But looking through the menu of “signature therapies” I see there is a very definite outdoor presence here as well.  I could have a “Peaceful Warrior” massage, for men returning from the “hunt or battle.”  Or maybe a “Paws and Claws” treatment, where “hands are then vigorously exfoliated, deeply hydrated and left shotgun ready!”

Maybe not.

Actually, I have a sneaking suspicion this is all a ploy to make sure we work harder than ever in the workshop.  If so, it’s a pretty good one!

Andrew,

Looks good so far……………….I’m waiting for more meat (pardon the pun) though on the meetings! Thanks again for taking the time in your busy schedule to attend this workshop, I beleive we accomplished a great deal more than anybody anticipated.

Cheers,

Greg

Thanks Greg – I’m afraid the series is a little light on the substantive stuff, but hopefully there’s more to get your teeth into in a couple of the following blogs!

ps – it’s rather embarrassing to admit that, after dissing the activities on offer, I indulged in nearly all of them :-)
