Hey,

Sorry it took me ages to write about it!! Had a massive backlog after holiday.
Thanks for the mentions :D
Though, for some reason the second link from my name goes to Gallomanor, rather than my blog! Oops...

Congrats again - did you get any more contact from the school after everyone received their books?

Thanks Tina!

Not sure whether my kids see me differently - they're a cynical lot :-)

Interestingly, I realized pretty fast that having my own kids only got me onto the first rung of engaging with other kids effectively - still a steep learning curve.

Congratulations Andrew! This was fun and grueling -- you must be proud that you survived with flying colors. Do your kids see you differently now?

Congratulations - I'm so proud of you. Despite the time zone and travelling handicap, I'm not at all surprised you won. You remind me of the engineer I worked with on a year-long community and stakeholder consultation. He just loved kids and turning them on to science - he used to tell us stories about how involved he'd become with his children's science projects that were quite scandalous but nonetheless very amusing. And when people did bring their children to the meetings we'd set up, we always knew Rick would take care of them - and that the kids would leave as mini ambassadors for our project.

Congratulations, Andrew! Can't think of a more deserving winner. And you are right...the students are the real winners in this activity!
